    i never liked assigned seats,
    the blind dates and
    arranged marriages
    of social discourse

    give me the magic
    of taking the empty seat
    next to the most
    improbable stories

    do not assume to know
    what amazing grace is possible,
    what amazing face might transport me
    to unimagined lands

    give me the chance of chance
    the fruition of my intuition,
    the roll of paradise
    in the land of surprise
